There is also a low risk of surface water flooding in 14 areas of south and west Wales including Cardiff, Monmouthshire and Carmarthenshire. There are four flood warnings in place and 16 alerts in areas including Cardiff, Monmouthshire and Carmarthenshire.

Natural Resources Wales (NRW) has one flood warning remaining for the Lower Dee Valley from Llangollen to Trevalyn Meadows, and eight flood alerts. In the Lower Dee Valley, flood water could impact isolated properties and extensive areas of farm land.

Overnight, the highest wind gust was 67mph recorded at Capel Curig in Snowdonia at 05:00 GMT.
Around the coast, a 55 mph gust was recorded at Aberdaron on the Lleyn Peninsula at 06:00 GMT.
