Man airlifted after stabbing in Pontypridd is 'stable' | |

A man airlifted to hospital following a stabbing in Pontypridd is in a stable condition in hospital. | |
Emergency services were called to the Tesco Express store on Taff Street at 12:30 GMT where a 51 year-old man needed treatment for a single stab wound to his abdomen. | |
The circumstances surrounding the incident are not known and police are investigating. | |

The town's Sardis Road was temporarily closed so the man could be taken by air ambulance to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. | |
It is understood he walked into the Tesco Express seeking help after the alleged attack. | |

The Welsh Ambulance Service was called at 12:36 GMT and a crew from Swansea took the injured man to hospital. | |
