Friends search for missing Devon teenager Harry Martin Harry Martin search: Body found
(about 5 hours later)
Friends and family of missing south Devon teenager Harry Martin have started a new search. Police searching for a teenager who went missing after going out to take photos of stormy seas on the Devon coast have found a body.
Harry Martin, from Membland, Newton Ferrers, left his home on Thursday to take photos of stormy seas. Harry Martin, 18, from Membland, Newton Ferrers, was last seen on 2 January.
A search party, with officers from Devon and Cornwall Police, left Noss Mayo Village Hall at 08:00 GMT. A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said the body had not yet been formally identified.
More than 130 people signed up on a group Facebook page to join the search for the 18-year-old photography student. Friends and family started a new search for the teenager earlier on Saturday, with more than 130 people signing up through a Facebook page.
A police spokesman said: "The police are very appreciative of the public's help in the search and are aware of their desire to continue searching for Harry over the weekend. Mr Martin, who police said was a photography student, was last seen by his father leaving his home and walking towards a coastal path at about noon on Thursday 2 January.
"Some areas that have been searched are very close to the coastline and in some places very treacherous and it is very important that members of the public do not put themselves in danger as public safety is paramount." Police, the Dartmoor Rescue Group, coastguards and members of the public have all taken part in searches since then.
