Letter: In a Gaza garden with Eyad Sarraj
http://www.theguardian.com/global/2014/jan/13/eyad-sarraj-obituary-letter Version 0 of 1. I met Eyad Sarraj on just one occasion, when I sat in his garden in Gaza, interviewing him for BBC Radio. It was a hot, humid day, but it was also Ramadan, so I was surprised when he offered me a coffee, before we began recording. I protested that it would not be very fair for me to sit there drinking while he had to hang on until sunset, but he laughed this off. "You are not a good Muslim, so you are probably going to hell," he said. "You might as well go to hell with a good coffee inside you." And he went off to prepare it, still chuckling to himself.
