The jury also heard that there were marks on the sink which Ms Evans said were blood which matched Mr Williams' DNA, and suggested that initially Ms Hall had been able to fend him off during the attack.

Ms Hall's upstairs neighbour Gabriel Roberts told police she heard arguing from the flat below involving a man and a woman. It stopped around 02.00.
The court has been adjourned and the trial is continuing. Mr Williams made several calls to a friend, Steven Camp, between 03.07 and 03.35. There was a gap of several hours then he made six calls between 06.02 and 07.24 when he finally got through.
Mr Camp told police the defendant sounded anxious and had asked him: "Please come round to Jo's."
More CCTV footage showed Mr Williams walking from Ms Hall's flat to Sainsbury's and buying a 20cl bottle of whisky.
