(35 minutes later)
Bomb attack on Pakistan army in north-west of country leaves at least 15 troops dead At least 20 soldiers have been killed when a bomb blast hit an army convoy in north-western Pakistan, officials say.
More to follow. They say at least 20 others were injured near the town of Bannu, and there are fears that the death toll will rise further.
Unconfirmed reports say a suicide bomber carried out the attack.
Although no group has for far claimed responsibility for the explosion, the Pakistani Taliban has recently vowed to increase attacks on security forces.
"We fear that dozens were killed and injured. A large number of soldiers were there," an intelligence source was quoted as saying by Reuters on Sunday.
The blast took place as the convoy of army troops and paramilitary Frontier Corps was preparing to leave Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Last week, a senior police officer known for campaigning against the militants was killed in a bomb blast in Karachi.
