If you’re single, however, it can be a somewhat dispiriting reminder of the fact that previous unions haven’t worked out – that is, if you’ve got any to remember in the first place. Dining out is a tricky one because of the aforementioned dinners a deux. The cinema is also out of bounds for fear that the back row may be full of people pashing. A straw poll of Guardian Australia’s Lonely Hearts Club Band suggested that exercise may be a popular option, with yoga and swimming both mentioned. At least that’s a way of doing something nice for yourself that doesn’t involve booze, and it’s not something ordinarily done in pairs (unless you’re particularly annoying). | |
