Mr Cameron also reiterated his support to businesses affected, saying tax payment dates would be flexible. Asked about planned job cuts at the Environment Agency, he said nothing would be done to hamper flood relief efforts.
"Obviously the weather will have an effect on what is happening in our economy, but I want businesses to know that the government is standing behind them," he said. Mr Cameron added that lessons had been learned from past flooding, but said: "There is always more we can do and we will do it."
