Pedestrian killed in A30 Redruth accident

A pedestrian has been run over and killed as he walked along a main road in Cornwall.

The accident happened on the eastbound carriageway of the A30 near Redruth at about 00:30 GMT.

The road was closed in both directions for crash investigators, but the westbound carriageway has reopened.

Devon and Cornwall Police have appealed to anyone who saw what happened to contact them. The victim's next of kin have been informed.
