A lorry driver has been charged with murder after a motorist was killed in Cheshire. A lorry driver has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 56-year-old man who was killed in Cheshire.
The man was found dead near to his car on a carriageway in Manchester Road, Rixton near Warrington, at 08:15 GMT on Saturday. Trevor Allen was found dead near to his car on a carriageway in Manchester Road, Rixton near Warrington, at 08:15 GMT on Saturday.
Police have not yet named the man and are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. Mr Allen, from Manchester, was "loved by all who knew him", his family said in a tribute
A 46-year-old man from Manchester is due to appear before Runcorn Magistrates' Court later. Mark Slater, 46, of Hillside Avenue, in Manchester was remanded to appear at Chester Crown Court on 19 February.
In a statement Mr Allen's family said: "Trevor was an amazing, caring dad, granddad, brother, uncle, son and friend to many.
"His smile and charm made the room light up when he walked in.
"Loved by all who knew him, he is irreplaceable and will be very sadly missed."
