Two Americans providing antipiracy security on the Maersk Alabama, a ship made famous by a 2013 Hollywood film, were found dead in a cabin aboard the vessel, an oil and shipping group said on Wednesday. The group, A. P. Moller-Maersk, said that the men were found on Feb. 18 in Port of Victoria in the Seychelles. The film, “Captain Phillips,” was based on an attempted hijacking of the ship by Somali pirates off the east coast of Africa in 2009. Maersk gave no details about how the two men had died, saying that it was not related to vessel operations or their duties as security personnel. Local law enforcement agencies in were investigating the deaths.
