A 29-year-old man has been charged on suspicion of terror offences linked to Syria, Greater Manchester police has said. A 29-year-old man from Manchester has appeared in court accused of planning to help others commit acts of terrorism linked to Syria.
Jamshed Javeed was arrested at a property in Cringle Road, Levenshulme, Manchester. Jamshed Javeed is charged with the intention of assisting others to commit acts of terrorism and engaging in conduct in preparation for giving effect to his intention.
Greater Manchester Police said Mr Javeed had been charged with intending to assist in acts of terrorism abroad. He was arrested at a property in Cringle Road, Levenshulme, Manchester.
Mr Javeed will appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court in central London later. He was remanded in custody at Westminster Magistrates' Court.
He was one of four people held after counter-terrorism raids on Tuesday. He will next appear at the Old Bailey on 4 April.
An 18-year-old man, also from Levenshulme, and a 21-year-old woman, from Trafford, were held in Manchester. A 29-year-old man from Oxford was also arrested. Mr Javeed was one of four people held after counter-terrorism raids on Tuesday.
All three, detained on suspicion of being concerned in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism, remain in police custody.
