A man has been rescued after he got stuck halfway up the outside of a lighthouse in County Down. A man has been taken to hospital after he got stuck halfway up the outside of a lighthouse in County Down.

He was rescued by the Fire and Rescue Service's hazardous area response team. He was rescued by a specialist rescue team from the Fire and Rescue Service and the Ambulance Service.
The alarm was raised at around 10:05 GMT and fire appliances from Downpatrick, Newcastle and Ballynahinch were also at the scene. It is understood the man was suspended for about an hour and a half before he was freed.
