Man arrested in Walsall after missing baby found 'safe and well'
(about 4 hours later)
A man who took his young baby from her home in Walsall is being sought by police.
A nine-week-old baby allegedly taken from her home in Walsall has been found "safe and well", police said.
Stuart Adams, 30, took nine-week-old Lana-Mai from the house on Prince Street, Pleck at around 02:20 GMT, police said.
Officers searching for Lana-Mai said she was found after going missing from the house in Prince Street, Pleck at around 02:20 GMT.
The baby's mother said Mr Adams had taken Lana-Mai after visiting the house.
Earlier, West Midlands Police issued an appeal to find the baby's father Stuart Adams, 30.
Police said they were "very concerned" for her welfare, and that Mr Adams had been drinking earlier in the night.
A man - whose identity has not yet been confirmed - was arrested in the Walsall area after the baby was found.
Officers have searched several addresses known to Mr Adams but have so far found "no trace" of him or his daughter.
Police said Lana-Mai was taken to hospital to be checked over but appeared to be well.
'Departure not planned'
They had said earlier they were "very concerned" for her welfare.
He is described as white, 5ft 7in tall, with dark hair, and was wearing blue jeans, a blue jacket, a white t-shirt and white trainers.
Lana-Mai is described as white and was wearing a pink babygrow with a ballerina design and press-studs down the front. She was wrapped in a peach and cream colour blanket.
"We are very concerned for Lana-Mai's welfare as she is so young and we understand her departure from the family home was not planned," Ch Insp Sue Parker from Walsall Police said.
She said Mr Adams had taken some formula and bottles but had no extra clothing or other "essential items that a young baby requires".
"We urge anyone who knows of their whereabouts to contact us as soon as possible so we can reunite Lana-Mai with her concerned mother and make sure that she is safe and well," Ch Insp Parker said.
