A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman in Cornwall whose body was found over a decade ago. A man has been charged with the murder of a woman whose body was found over a decade ago in Cornwall.
Joan Roddam, 74, was found dead at the back of her home at West Downs, Delabole, Cornwall, on 8 November 2003. A 38-year-old man from Delabole, Cornwall, has been charged with the murder of Joan Roddam.
A post-mortem examination revealed that she had died from asphyxiation. Patrick Curran remains in police custody in Launceston and is due to appear at Bodmin Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
Following a review by Devon and Cornwall Police a 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody at Launceston Police Station. Mrs Roddam, 74, was found dead at the back of her home at West Downs, Delabole, on 8 November 2003.
Mrs Roddam was last seen alive on 6 November 2003 and lived alone with her three cats. A post-mortem examination revealed she had died from asphyxiation.
Her body was discovered after a friend reported they had been unable to contact her. Mrs Roddam was last seen alive two days earlier.
Police searched the bungalow and surrounding area with the help of a police dog. She lived alone with her three cats. Her body was discovered after a friend was unable to contact her.
At the time, police said there appeared to be no sign of forced entry at the bungalow.
