Durham Police said a member of the public found a body near Blackhall Rocks. Durham Police said it appeared the body of a middle-aged man "had been in the water for some time".

Supt Bill Dutton said it had been a "really big search".
"Since Mark was reported missing there have been numerous people involved in the search," he said.
"It is a difficult terrain to search over - cliff faces, beaches, it's very windy here."
He added that the force had received an "overwhelming" amount of information from the public.
