A teenage boy has been charged with murdering a 15-year-old girl who was shot in the neck in east London. A teenage boy accused of murdering a 15-year-old girl who was shot in the neck in London has appeared in court.
The 15-year-old boy is accused of killing Shereka Fab-Ann Marsh in Hackney on Saturday, Scotland Yard said. The boy, also aged 15, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of killing Shereka Fab-Ann Marsh at a property in Hackney on Saturday.
She died at a property in Eastway, Hackney Wick, shortly before 16:00 GMT. The court heard he called emergency services but Shereka died at the scene.
The accused boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is due to appear at Stratford Magistrates' Court later. At Stratford Youth Court he was remanded in youth detention to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Wednesday.
Two other boys who had been arrested in connection with the shooting have been released without charge, police said. 'Devastating loss'
Richard Brown, head teacher at Urswick School, which the victim attended, said: "Shereka was one of our shining stars.
"She was an engaging, bubbly personality. She would have done really well in her GCSEs this year.
"She was well liked by everyone in the community and this has just become the most devastating loss for us."
Mr Brown added that all students at the school were being offered support.
Two 16-year-olds who were also arrested in connection with the shooting have been released without charge, police said.
