Trams are only running between Station Street and Wilkinson Street, and Nottingham Express Transit (NET) said it has a "very limited amount" of replacement buses running. Trams were only running between Station Street and Wilkinson Street earlier.
The buses are operating between Hucknall, Phoenix Park and Wilkinson Street. Nottingham Express Transit (NET) said a full service was running again by 8:20 GMT, but there were still delays to the timetable.
NET said it hoped to get trams running again shortly. Richard John Salter posted on BBC Radio Nottingham's Facebook page saying it was "unbelievable" for the service to fail due to the "first proper frost".
