She was captured getting on to a number three bus on Dewsbury Road at 1820 BST and sitting on one of the front seats of the top deck.
Miss Motylska got off the bus in North Street at 1840 BST, 15 minutes before she was found dead.
Detectives said there was another passenger sat next to the teenager, who was wearing a distinctive black and white hat.
They said she also received a call on her mobile phone while she was on the bus.
Det Supt Bill Shackleton said: "We need to speak to the members of the public who were on the number three bus at the same time as Lidia.
"We especially need the person who came and sat next to Lidia to contact police. The passenger may have information about the phone call that Lidia received while on the bus."
