Version 0 of 1.

The group dealing with the legacy of Northern Ireland's Troubles has announced it is extending its deadline for submissions until the new year.

It is also holding a series of public meetings to allow people to have their say.

The Consultative Group on the Past was set up in June.

Its co-chairs - Lord Eames and Denis Bradley - have said there has been a very high level of interest and response from groups and individuals.

The group aims to provide a platform for everyone to express their opinions on how to deal with the trauma caused by the Troubles.

As a result of the high level of interest they are now prolonging the deadline for people to air their views.

The new date is Friday 25 January.

In another move, they are holding a number of public meetings. The venues and dates of these will be announced in the next few weeks.

The group has said these new developments will not affect the timing of their final report.
