Version 0 of 1.

A couple have told a jury how they found murder victim Marsha McDonnell moments after she was attacked.

David Fuller told the Old Bailey how he was woken by a loud thud outside his house in Priory Road, Hampton, south-west London, in February 2003.

Minutes later, his wife Bernadette saw the hand of 19-year-old Miss McDonnell stretched out from a pool of blood.

Levi Bellfield, of West Drayton, Middlesex, denies two murders and three other attacks between 2001 and 2004.

Head injuries

Mr Fuller's wife Bernadette said: "I could see a pool of liquid running down the pavement.

"When I looked again there was a hand stretched out from the pool so we knew there was somebody there, not just blood from the pillar."

She was face down with her arm underneath her Bernadette Fuller

Mr Fuller called for an ambulance and kept the line open to hear advice from the operator as the couple rushed outside to help.

Mrs Fuller told the court: "She was face down with her arm underneath her. Her arm was stretched out in front of her and she clawed her arm backwards."

Miss McDonnell died from severe head injuries after being battered over the head as she walked home. She had just got off a bus after a night out with friends.

False imprisonment

Mr Bellfield is accused of also murdering French student Amelie Delagrange, 22, at Twickenham Green, in August 2004.

He is also accused of attacking two other women after seeing them on buses or near bus stops.

He is charged with the attempted murder of Albanian-born hairdresser Irma Dragoshi, 33. He is also charged with causing Ms Dragoshi grievous bodily harm.

Mr Bellfield further denies the kidnap and false imprisonment of Anna-Maria Rennie, then 17, on 14 October 2001.

The trial was adjourned until Friday.
