Greater Manchester paintball gun 'rampage' arrests

Police said they were investigating eight separate attacks over the weekend involving shots fired from cars. One man was "lucky not to lose an eye" after he was shot in the face, officers said. A man, 20, was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed. Two others, aged 22 and 20, have been held on suspicion of the same offence. They remain in police custody for questioning. Orange paintballs Police said paintballs were fired from a dark-coloured Vauxhall car at a house in Powell Street, Bury on Saturday night. Later that evening, three pedestrians were hit with orange paintballs in the Bury New Road area of Prestwich. Officers said a silver or grey Range Rover was also involved in the attacks. In the early hours of Sunday, two people were shot in Fallowfield, one person was shot in the face in Burnage and a final attack took place in Stockport. Det Sgt Iqbal Ahmed said police were "treating these incidents extremely seriously" and appealed for witnesses to come forward. |
