http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-26961268 Version 0 of 1. The owner of a care home in Derbyshire has denied breaching health and safety rules after a resident was found dead underneath a wardrobe. Thomasina Bennett, 80, is thought to have suffocated underneath the wardrobe when it toppled on to her at the Coach House Nursing Home, Milford, in 2012. Gerald Hudson, 70, from Ambergate, near Belper, appeared before Derby magistrates. Mr Hudson has been charged under the Health and Safety at Work Act. The case will now be heard in August at Derby Crown Court. Amber Valley Borough Council launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mrs Bennett's death. Post-mortem tests carried out at the time proved inconclusive. |
