200 new Wrexham jobs for Avox data research firm
(about 3 hours later) | |
A Wrexham-based company which provides data to the banking industry is to create 200 jobs due to growing demand.
Avox provides specialist information for financial institutions to help them meet industry regulations.
The firm, which currently employs 220, says it will take on the extra staff by the end of 2016 at its headquarters at Redwither Business Park.
Prime Minister David Cameron said the firm's expansion was a "great vote of confidence in Wrexham".
The company, a subsidiary of New York-based Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), has seen a 35% growth in its client base in the past year, according to Avox general manager Mark Davies.
"Wrexham has been our headquarters since Avox commenced operations in 2003, and we find the superb local talent in the immediate area to be a key enabler of business growth," said Mr Davies.
"We look forward to our continued partnership with the local community."
The business provides data and information about companies participating in financial markets to help financial institutions "facilitate decision making and regulatory reporting".
Ahead of the Welsh Conservatives' spring conference in nearby Llangollen, David Cameron said: "Today's news from Avox is a great vote of confidence in Wrexham and shows that the UK is open for business." |
