A Gloucester Rugby Club player has been cautioned for trying to film a woman changing in a leisure centre.

Hooker Koree Britton used the camera on a phone to film under a cubicle door at the Leisure@Cheltenham centre, the Sun newspaper reported.

Police confirmed officers had been called following reports of a 22-year-old man trying to photograph or video a woman getting changed.

The club said it would investigate the player, but would not further comment.

"Gloucester Rugby is aware that one of its employees was cautioned by police following an incident last week, but that charges were not pressed and that the matter is now closed," a spokesman said.

'Very upset'

"The club has started an internal investigation into the matter and will not be making any further comment," he added.

Mr Britton, who was born in Torquay, moved to Gloucester from Exeter Chiefs at the age of 17.

He has made 30 appearances for the Cherry and Whites and played for England at Under-20 level.

A Gloucestershire Police spokesman said officers were called to the leisure centre in Tommy Taylors Lane on 31 March following reports a man had taken a photo or video of a woman using a mobile phone in a changing room

He added when officers arrived the woman was "very upset".

"Officers arrested a 22-year-old man from Gloucester on suspicion of voyeurism.

"He later received a formal police caution for voyeurism," he said.
