Searches have been taking place for a man seen getting into difficulty in a lake. A man's body has been recovered by police searching a lake in Walsall.
Emergency services were called to Walsall Arboretum after a passer-by spotted the man at about 19:30 BST on Tuesday. A passer-by reported a man in difficulty in the lake in Walsall Arboretum at about 19:30 BST on Tuesday.
West Midlands Police said they had been unable to locate him. Two police officers attempted to rescue the man but he went under the water.
A spokesman said specialist teams were due to resume the search on Wednesday morning. The arboretum has been closed to the public while inquiries continue. Specialist teams resumed their search on Wednesday and a body has now been recovered. West Midlands Police said they were treating the death as unexplained.
The arboretum will remain closed for the rest of the day, but is due to reopen as normal on Thursday.
