Here's a sobering chart for the weekend from the Brookings Institution's Hamilton Project, showing that the likelihood of being a victim of crime is much, much higher for people in low-income households. Across all types of personal crimes, victimization rates are significantly higher for individuals living in low-income households... The sad reality, as the chart above shows, is that poorer Americans are much more likely to be at the receiving end of violence against persons and property than wealthier ones. |
