Homes were evacuated after a suspect device was found at a house in Greater Manchester. Two weapons have been seized from a house in Greater Manchester prompting the evacuation of surrounding homes.
Police said officers are searching a house on Oldham Road, Rochdale where the device and a firearm were discovered at about 11:30 BST. Police said an air rifle and a ball bearing gun were removed from a house on Oldham Road in Rochdale earlier. No arrests have been made.
Homes were evacuated, roads between Milnrow Road and Dodgson Street were closed and trams were also suspended between Newbold and Rochdale. Roads between Milnrow Road and Dodgson Street were temporarily closed and trams suspended between Newbold and Rochdale.
Police later confirmed the cordon had been lifted. Residents have now been allowed to return to their homes.
