A man who absconded from an open jail in Buckinghamshire has been arrested in Berkshire. A man accused of absconding from an open prison in Buckinghamshire has been committed for crown court trial.
Wayne McLeod, 36, disappeared from HMP Springhill in Grendon Underwood on Sunday and was arrested in Reading. Wayne McLeod, 36, is charged with absconding from HMP Springhill in Grendon Underwood on Sunday.
He is due to appear at Reading Magistrates' Court charged with escaping from lawful custody. He was arrested in Reading on Tuesday and appeared at the town's Magistrates' Court earlier on a charge of escaping from lawful custody.
McLeod was the third prisoner to abscond from an open jail over the bank holiday weekend as two men went missing from HMP Hollesley Bay in Suffolk. He has yet to enter a plea and will be brought to Reading Crown Court on 25 July.
