Ms Li had not been seen for more than a week and her daughter reported her missing on Tuesday. Mr Legris's son, 26, also from the town, remains in custody after police secured extra time to question him.
Ms Li had not been seen for more than a week and her daughter Lu Yao, 18, reported her missing last Tuesday.
She had worked at Poole Hospital since 2009 and first came to the UK from China with Ms Yao about 10 years ago.
'Very difficult time'
Formal identification of Ms Li's body has not yet taken place and an inquest into her death is due to be opened.
Det Insp Marcus Hester, of the major crime investigation unit, said family liaison officers had been keeping her daughter updated.
"Clearly, this is a very difficult time for her as she tries to come to terms with the loss of her mother," he said.
Forensic investigators have been examining the Punto, and the area around where it was found, about four miles from where Ms Li lived, in Burnham Drive.
Det Insp Hester said officers were still appealing for anyone with information about the case to contact police.
"In particular we would like anyone with information about the movements of two vehicles - a silver Fiat Punto with registration plate W887 PDL and a large white Ford Transit van with registration plate Y491 GFT - between Saturday 24 May and Wednesday 28 May 2014, to contact police," he said.
