| As the athletes lined up around the Glasgow Transporter Beam, we’re given a glimpse of the team in their finest. | The ensemble, which the Guardian’s stylewatch described as a "bold approach", follows the same trends that Australia has set in previous events on the world stage. Of particular concern is there always being just a little much material. There’s always some sort of billowy jumper or oddly shaped anorak that flaps in the wind. We did it in 2000 for the Olympic games and perhaps more embarrassingly for the APEC summit in 2007. This year is no different, with the team sporting collars you could ski down and hoods fit for a jedi. | |
