About 50 firefighters are tackling a blaze at a recycling centre in Pontyclun, Rhondda Cynon Taf. A large number of firefighters are continuing to tackle a blaze at a recycling centre in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
Emergency services were called to the incident in a unit on Coedcae Lane just before 04:30 BST. Emergency services were called at 04:30 BST to Celtic Waste Management Services Ltd on Coedcae Lane, Pontyclun.
Six fire engines, four water bowsers and an aerial appliance are at the scene, and teams are using a variety of jets to fight the blaze. Earlier on Tuesday 50 firefighters were at the scene, but South Wales fire service said at 08:30 BST the incident was being scaled down.
The building is said to be half full of recycling materials. The road remains closed. However, three engines remain. Natural Resources Wales is examining how to remove remaining waste material.
As well as a large number of officers, three fire engines, a water bowser and a hose-laying vehicle are still at the scene, and a fire service spokeswoman said they were expected to remain for some time.
At one stage, crews from 11 stations were in attendance.
The service is working to relieve crews who have been tackling the blaze since the early hours.
Coedcae Lane was closed, but later re-opened.
