Kasabian singer Tom Meighan has donated thousands of pounds worth of clothes to an Oxfam store in his home city of Leicester.

Oxfam in Market Street has been turned into a pop-up shop to sell the clothes for two weeks, until 28 June.

The charity hopes to raise £10,000, with the most expensive item being a Burberry trench coat for £1,000.

The shop hosted a similar auction of the singer's clothes in October which raised more than £3,000.

The singer said: "Some of the clothes I've donated have been worn on stage, so you're getting a piece of my life, I suppose."

Shop manager Ahsan Sheikh said: "The aim of this is not only to raise money to contribute to Oxfam's cause but also to raise the profile of Oxfam in general."

Kasabian went straight to number one in the album chart on Sunday with their fifth album 48:13.
