People trapped after a two-car crash on the A487 in Ceredigion have been freed by crews using hydraulic cutting equipment. A man has been seriously injured following a two-car crash on the A487 in Ceredigion.
Mid and West Wales fire service said two crews are at the collision in Llanarth, near Aberaeron, but it not known how many casualties are involved. He was a passenger in a Honda Civic which collided with a Citroen in Llanarth, near Aberaeron, at 16:40 BST on Sunday.
A doctor is at the scene and an air ambulance and the injured are expected to be taken to hospital. The man has been taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, while the male driver was taken to Bronglais Hospital for treatment.
Dyfed-Powys Police tweeted traffic delays were expected. People travelling in the Citroen were not seriously hurt.
Diversions at Synod Inn and at Llanarth square are directing vehicles through New Quay. The road was closed for about seven hours and Dyfed-Powys Police has appealed for witnesses.
The alarm was raised at 16:40 BST.
