Man dies and woman critical in East Lancs Road crash

A man has been killed and a woman left in a critical condition in hospital after three cars crashed in Greater Manchester.

The man and his passenger were on East Lancashire Road at about 16:55 BST when they collided with an Audi RS3 and an Audi S3 near to Swinton Park.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

They remain in police custody for questioning.

East Lancashire Road between Lancaster Road and Worsley Road has been closed.
