Paraglider airlifted after mountainside crash

A paraglider had to be airlifted to hospital after crashing into a hillside near Abergavenny in Monmouthshire.

The man from Essex was flying with friends above the Blorenge when the crash happened near the top of the hill.

Longtown Mountain Rescue members and an RAF search and rescue helicopter went the to the 23-year-old's assistance.

He was treated by paramedics and a team doctor before being flown to Nevill Hall hospital in Abergavenny.

He was treated for lower leg injuries following the incident on Saturday.
