Version 0 of 1.

Fishing line has been found strung between trees at neck level in an attempt to harm mountain bikers cycling in an Eastbourne wood, say police.

A section of Paradise Woods is used for mountain biking.

The line was discovered by a biker on Sunday who removed it and contacted Sussex Police.

Police are also investigating "other incidents" in Friston Forest, in East Sussex, which were intended to cause harm to mountain bikers.

However, these have not involved twine or fishing line.

Ch Insp Steve Biglands said: "This incident is being treated seriously as such reckless behaviour has the potential to cause significant injury.

"Officers have visited the scene and evidence has been taken for forensic examination."
