The seven-year-old wandered off from his family while they were outside playing in the snow at Mount Buller. Haadi Akhtar, 7, was playing in the snow at Mount Buller with his parents and two siblings when he wandered off.

Family friend Atif Mirza, whose son Zain went to school with Haadi, said: "He was such an angel. He was a lovely, lovely kid. He was very intelligent and smart."
Mirza said the family from Roxburgh Park in Melbourne had visited Mt Buller snowfields on Tuesday and were due to return on Friday.

The boy was at Mount Buller for a family holiday with his parents and two siblings.
