A suspect interviewed on Tuesday by Portuguese detectives investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann is expected to be questioned again later. A suspect interviewed by Portuguese detectives working on the Madeleine McCann case was expected to face further questioning on Wednesday.
The BBC understands he is Sergey Malinka, a Russian-born computer expert with Portuguese nationality. Sergey Malinka is one of four "persons of interest" - or arguidos - due to be quizzed in the case's latest development. He denies any involvement.
Mr Malinka and another suspect left the central police station in Faro on Tuesday after they were interviewed. Madeleine went missing aged three in the Praia da Luz resort in 2007.
Two further "persons of interest" - or arguidos - are expected to be quizzed in the latest development in the case. Interviews are being observed by Met Police detectives, who are at Faro police station for a second day.
Interviews are being carried out by Portuguese officers with Scotland Yard detectives present. The Scotland Yard officers, who are also investigating the youngster's disappearance, will not be allowed to ask their own questions.
Mr Malinka, a Russian-born website designer with Portuguese nationality, was questioned as a witness after she went missing.
He has always denied an involvement.
Shortly after the UK officers entered the police station earlier, an unmarked vehicle - with Portuguese detectives in the front and a man in the back seat - arrived via a rear entrance.
