| Mngeni’s accomplice, Mziwamadoda Qwabe, pleaded guilty to the murder and claimed he was paid £1,400 to kill Mrs Dewani in Cape Town in 2010 by her new husband, Shrien Dewani. Mr Dewani, who denies he was involved in the killing, is due to go on trial in October, pending a psychological examination.
