Man and woman killed by freight train near Lincoln

Emergency services were called to the crossing in Croft Lane, Cherry Willingham, shortly before 12:00 BST. The deaths are not being treated as suspicious and the Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) has been informed. British Transport Police (BTP) said the pair, who have not been named, were "pronounced dead at the scene". A spokesman added: "Officers are working to establish the full circumstances of the incident [and the] family of the deceased have been informed." |
