Bristol candle lorry fire road reopened

One of Bristol's busiest roads, which was shut after a lorry carrying candles caught fire, has been reopened.

Brunel Way on the Cumberland Basin was closed during rush hour on Wednesday after the road was left covered by a pool of melted wax.

All lanes were reopened just before 07:00 BST on Friday after temporary repairs were completed.

A Bristol City Council spokeswoman said workmen would have to return at a later date to carry out permanent repairs.
