Version 0 of 1.

Remember that crazy scene outside of the Akron-area home of LeBron James a couple of weeks ago? In anticipation, and then celebration, of his decision to return to the Cavaliers, dozens of fans swarmed the street in front of his house, causing a chaotic scene. Heck, there was even a (minor) car crash.

Well, it seems that James himself, or at least someone who may actually have been in his house at the time (LeBron was in Las Vegas), remembers, and he wanted to make amends to his put-upon neighbors.

A Reddit user posted a photo of a box cupcakes and a printed note from James and his family, which read:

“Dear Friend, We know things have been hectic in the neighborhood these past few weeks. We are so thankful to live in this community and we are so blessed to have understanding neighbors like you. Our family wants to give you something that is very meaningful to us, our foundation’s cupcakes.”

“Dear Friend,

We know things have been hectic in the neighborhood these past few weeks.

We are so thankful to live in this community and we are so blessed to have understanding neighbors like you.

Our family wants to give you something that is very meaningful to us, our foundation’s cupcakes.”

Now that’s how you do it! Kind words are nice, but sweet treats are the best way to say, “I trust that there won’t be any hard feelings over this.”

I couldn’t find anything about cupcakes at the Web site for the LeBron James Family Foundation, but that’s beside the point. A report on ESPN’s Web site says that “James sent a team from a Fairlawn, Ohio, bakery around his immediate neighborhood in Bath Township to deliver cupcakes,” and there’s little doubt they went over well.

In fact, it’s probably safe to assume that most of James’s neighbors are Cavs fans, and as such, were happy to trade a couple of crazy days in the neighborhood for the return of the NBA’s best player to their team. The fact that he threw some cupcakes into the deal was just the icing on you know what.
