Rebel leader Senator Antonio Trillanes said they were ending their resistance to save the lives of civilians and journalists still inside the hotel. The rebels, some with their hands in the air, were led out of the Peninsula hotel onto a bus by police.
About 1,500 troops moved in after an 0700GMT deadline for the rebels to leave the Peninsula Hotel passed. Earlier the rebel leader, Sen Antonio Trillanes, said they were ending their siege to save the lives of civilians and journalists inside the hotel.
