The Peace Corps said Wednesday that it was temporarily withdrawing 340 volunteers from Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, and that two volunteers had been isolated and were under observation after being exposed to a person who later died of the Ebola virus. A spokeswoman said the two volunteers, who were not identified, were not symptomatic and would return to the United States after they were cleared to travel. Liberia, meanwhile, moved to close schools nationwide and put nonessential government workers on 30-day compulsory leave in a bid to halt the outbreak, which is the worst on record. Ebola is blamed for 672 deaths in the three countries, according to the World Health Organization.
