Singer Robbie Williams has apologised to his former Take That manager over an allegation he made about him in a song he wrote. Robbie Williams has apologised to his former Take That manager and has agreed to pay undisclosed damages over an allegation he made about him in a song.
The star had suggested Nigel Martin Smith had stolen funds from the band in his song called The 90s. The star had suggested in the lyrics of a song called The 90s that Nigel Martin Smith had stolen funds from the band.
The track appeared on the 33-year-old's 2006 album, Rudebox, which reached number one in the UK charts, Mr Martin Smith's counsel David Sherborne told the High Court the lyrics were changed prior to the release of the Rudebox album in 2006.
Mr Williams also agreed to pay Mr Smith undisclosed damages following a hearing at the High Court in London. He said the 33-year-old star "wishes now to apologise publicly".
