Tony Charlery: Man accused over Portobello Road death

A man has been charged with the murder of a grandfather who was stabbed on a west London street.

Tony Charlery, 59, was found on Portobello Road in Notting Hill on 30 August after being stabbed in the neck.

Mr Charlery, who was described by police as a "much-loved grandfather", was pronounced dead at the scene.

John Tayo Wesley, 38, of no fixed abode, is due at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Friday. A man, 21, held on suspicion of murder has been bailed.

Police said he had been released pending further inquiries.
