Krzysztos Jan Druzgala in court over Leith rape

A 21-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the rape of a woman who was attacked while walking to work in Leith early on Saturday morning.

Krzysztos Jan Druzgala made a brief appearance in private at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

No plea or declaration was made on his behalf and the case was continued. Druzgala was remanded in custody.

It follows an attack on a 20-year-old woman at the entrance to the Swanfield industrial estate, Bonnington Road.

The attack took place on Saturday at 04:30.
