What were you hoping for? I had no expectations, so it would be a bonus if it went well.

First impressions? Bit of a hipster. And, "Oh great, I am way overdressed."

What did you talk about? Mutual wanderlust, Antarctica, work, and the obscene amount of metal in his arm.

Any awkward moments? I split my dress about an hour before the date, but I think I hid it well.

Good table manners? Yes, but he did drink a whole bottle of champagne.

Best thing about him? Smart, and he had a bit of a twinkle in his eye.

Would you introduce him to your friends? Definitely.

Describe Sam in three words Very itchy-footed.

What do you think he made of you? Prone to laughing.

Did you go on somewhere? No.

And... did you kiss? No, just a hearty hug.

If you could change one thing about the evening, what would it be? That I could have shared the champagne with him (I'm intolerant to alcohol).

Would you meet again? As friends.

What did you talk about? Penguins, blue whales and drinking/not drinking.

Any awkward moments? Having to drink an entire bottle of champagne.

Best thing her? She once sailed to the Antarctic.

Would you introduce her to your friends? They don't have much in common.

What do you think she made of you? Hopefully intelligent and nice.

Did you go on somewhere? No, I had the challenge of cycling home.

And... did you kiss? On the cheek at hello and goodbye.

If you could change one thing about the evening, what would it be? I'd have had the Pimm's jelly and apple sorbet for dessert.

Would you meet again? I don't think so. Unless I need some sailing lessons.
