(35 minutes later)
Police hunting for missing London schoolgirl Alice Gross, 14, arrest man on suspicion of murder, Scotland Yard says Detectives looking for missing schoolgirl Alice Gross have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.
More to follow. The 14-year-old was last seen at 13:00 BST on 28 August when she left the family home in Hanwell, west London.
She had recently been diagnosed with anorexia, her mother said.
Police said the suspect was arrested following information received by detectives on Saturday and was in custody at a west London police station.
Earlier Scotland Yard appealed for five cyclists shown on CCTV cycling past Alice's last known location - by the side of the Grand Union Canal in Brentford - to contact them.
A spokesman said: "All lines of inquiry are still open at this time and this remains a missing person investigation at this stage."
